The Secret of Beast Mask Gear (April 13, 2016)

The most enthusiastic Line Rangers group (LINE Rangers 攻略組) has discovered a very interesting hidden settings for Beast Mask Gear (see the original article here). It will blow out your mind and make you want to Gacha to get the beast mask. What is the secret? Let’s find out.

First, let’s see the status of Beast Mask:

As you can see, it has atributes of HP (+numeric bonus), physical attack (% bonus), and skill resistance (% bonus). Normally, all gear that has % multiplier bonus will only add their base physical attack.

For example, if your ranger has 10,000 physical attack, therefore, 264% bonus means that there will be 26,400 bonus of physical attack if you use the gear. The other attack bonus will not be multiplied and it will only be added as sum of attack.

However, Beast Mask does not work in that way. It will MULTIPLY ALL OF YOUR TOTAL ATTACK (including the one you got from gear). Let’s see below for comparison of normal gear that has % bonus (such as gun, bow), and beast mask:

• OTHER GEARS
  • Base physical attack of ranger = 1,000
  • Attack bonus from gear = physical attack +5,000, magical attack + 5,000
  • Physical attack % bonus from other gears (e.g: gun) = 250%
  • Total attack = base physical + total attack bonus (+1) from gear + attack bonus (%) from gear
    • Total attack = 1,000 + (5,000 physical attack + 5,000 magical attack) + (250% x 1,000 base phsyical attack)
    • Total attack = 13,500
• BEAST MASK
  • Base physical attack of ranger = 1,000
  • Attack bonus from gear = physical attack +5,000, magical attack +5,000
  • Physical attack % bonus from beast mask = 250%
  • Total attack = Physical attack % bonus * (all attack combined)
    • Total attack = 250% * (base physical + total attack bonus (+1) from gear)
    • Total attack = 250% * (1,000 + 5,000 + 5,000)
    • Total attack = 250% * 11,000
    • Total attack = 27,500 (!)

(Author’s Note: all number is hypothetical, it is only to simplify the comparison)

See the difference above? Gears such as rifle and satchel that has huge bonus of attack would take advantage of this % multiplier from Beast Mask. Want a prove? Let’s see the screenshot of Lucas below:

As you can see in the picture above, Lucas with Beast Mask has significant increase of damage and you should know that Lucas only has base physical attack of 1,681. So it should be very small improvement. (Credit to Ethan Lin for the picture)

Another test can be seen in the original article here. This is also the secret why we can have high damage on raid (see here). It remains us of another questions: Does the developer really intend to do this? Or is it their error? How long will it last? No one knows.. Stay tune to our blog for more interesting information 🙂

Update 1:

In order to make it clear whether the secret is true or not, let’s see the videos below that compare critical hit for Lucas with Beast Mask and Commander Coat (All use rifle + satchel, see the Lucas status on the video). Video that compares Lucas *4 with helm (higher physical attack status) and beast mask (lower physical attack status) can be seen below:

 

Even SGC (Star Goddess Cony) with very low physical attack, can be used to kill the enemy’s tower in stage 380 (with HP 9,312,000 according to ranger.lerico database). It surely can be used to farm coins 🙂

 

Update 3:

After May 31, 2016 update, the ‘secret’ has been fixed by the developer. It is now normal again.

Update 3:

After May 31, 2016 update, the ‘secret’ cannot be used to 1-hit kill tower. For damage, it perhaps the same but still need further testing.
